On 20th March it is your chance to join the Port Douglas Surf Life Saving Club with the whole family. The club was founded in 1984 keeping Four Mile Beach a safe place for everyone to enjoy.
Everyone from 5 years old is welcome to join the club, signing up for a season of fun and learning how to be safe in the ocean.
Training starts Saturday 5th March commencing in the pool this year with complimentary swim sessions for all current and new members. To join simply show up at the QT pool at 8:00 am and bring goggles, a bottle of water and $5 pool entry. Swim coaches Ben Eagle and Irene Cats will join forces to ensure everyone is ready to jump in the ocean by the end of May.
Beach training will start some time in May, at a date to be confirmed. Parents are also encouraged to take it to the next level and enrol in the Bronze Medallion training course, enabling them to join their children in the water.
Training dates are yet to be announced but please let the club know if you are interested.
If you are unable to make it to the sign on day on 20th March but do want to join there is the opportunity to sign up online via www.sls.com.au/join. Stay up-to-date with everything happening in the club and find out about the 2016 Carnivale dates via the Port Douglas Surf Life Saving Club Facebook Page.
