Councillor David Carey is an early leader in the first of numerous polls to be conducted by Newsport in the build-up to the March 19 Council election.

In response to the question: “We know it’s a long way out, but who of the Councillor candidates do you prefer at this stage?” Carey received 38.2%, closely followed by candidate Michael Kerr who garnered 29.4%. 

Next best was another candidate Donna Graham on 17.6% and Councillor Abigail Noli 11.8%. Councillors Bruce Clarke and Terry Melchert received 2.9% and 0% respectively.

Newsport will be running a poll each week which will cover a host of topics. The next poll is slated for Friday February 12.
