AFL CAIRNS: Crocs show no mercy against hapless Hawks

Published 1 August 2016

PORT Douglas recorded an emphatic 130-point win over Manunda Hawks on Saturday at Cazalys Stadium.

The rampaging Crocs showed no mercy to their lowly opponent registering 39 scoring shots to just six for the afternoon. They piled on 13.12 to just 2.2 in the first half to have the match sewn up at the main change, leading by 76-points.

Port Douglas had contributors everywhere with Todd Shapter, Paul Lewis, Brayden Mayne and Declan Kelly particularly dominant in the 22.19 (151) to 3.3 (21) win.

The Crocs went into the clash without a number of key players including midfielder Pete Bury, who received a one week suspension from their triumph over South Cairns.

Port Douglas take on cellar-dweller North Cairns Tigers at home this weekend, who had a heart-breaking one-point loss to Cairns City Lions on Saturday.
