AFL CAIRNS: Bury returns to bolster relentless Crocs

Published Friday 5 August 2016

PORT Douglas midfielder Pete Bury returns for the clash with cellar-dweller North Cairns Tigers tomorrow at the Port Douglas Sporting Complex.

Bury, one of the Crocs most consistent players this season, missed last week’s win over Manunda Hawks through suspension. He accepted a one-week penalty for head butting in the fiery clash against South Cairns Cutters the week prior.

Port Douglas is expected to make light work of the Tigers tomorrow, who remain winless in the AFL Cairns competition. They came agonisingly close to breaking the ice last week against Cairns City Lions before falling short by one-point. Trailing by 16-points at three-quarter-time, they kept the Lions goal-less in the frenetic final term to almost pinch victory.

The Crocs, on the other hand, mauled the Hawks by 130 points and have skipped two games clear on top of the ladder with a huge percentage of 233.19.

They’re likely to add to that tomorrow.
