Applications are now open for submission for the Salsa Sorensen Association and local groups and/or charities are encouraged to submit an application for a specific item or purchase required, to the value of $5,000.

For the past two years, the Salsa Sorensen Association has provided assistance to nine different groups/charities in the Douglas Shire close to the value of $30,000.

The funds raised to assist these groups have stemmed from the Annual Brian Sorensen Cup, held in August each year.

“We will be taking applications from now until June 30, with the recipients announced on the day of the Brian Sorensen Cup on August 21,” said Jenni Sorensen, co-founder and principle of the Salsa Sorensen Association Inc.
  
“While we encourage all groups to apply, a detailed submission outlining the purpose and desired value is required. We also encourage all groups to read the information pack to ensure their eligibility for funding,” 

Ms Sorensen said for the first time, the association is looking for a major sponsor of the golf day.
