VIVID sunsets, stunning beaches and tropical rainforests are just some of the winning scenes captured by photographers and videographers in Tourism Port Douglas and Daintree’s Show Me Your Paradise campaign.

The campaign was open to amateur and professional photographers and filmmakers with a prize pool of more than $4000 up for grabs.

Tourism Port Douglas and Daintree executive officer Tara Bennett said the calibre of entries for this year’s competition were at such a high standard it was difficult for the panel of judges to choose a winner across the different categories of adventure, family, romance, and video.

“We wanted to showcase our paradise through the eyes of the visitors who holiday here and local residents who have fallen in love with the place,” Bennett said.

“We were looking for standout imagery that captured people experiencing the incredible scenery, lifestyle and natural surrounds of Port Douglas, Mossman, Cape Tribulation and Daintree.

“What has been captured on both film and in still format has truly represented the beauty and diversity this region has to offer.”

“I would like to congratulate Jodi Noden for winning the overall photographic category with her simple, yet stunning shot of Emmagen Creek,” Ms Bennett added.

Other photographic winners included Tony Jose in the adventure and people’s choice categories, Daniel Kiritsis for romance and Andrea Moore for family.

Taking out the people’s choice in the video category was Jennifer Frei, while Rian Cope received the overall award in this category.

The collection of short videos, along with the photographic images submitted, will be used as part of TPDD’s marketing activities in 2016-17.
