Novel way to get the best veggies

If you are looking for fresh, pesticide-free, locally grown fruit and vegetables delivered to your doorstep, then you need to look no further than Veg Box Direct.

Now into its second year, Tristan Fielden’s unique concept offers a superb quality product which is hand-picked to order, boxed and delivered to your front door.

“We partner with a handful of the best growers on the Atherton Tablelands; farmers who share our philosophy of minimal fertilisers and pesticides,” said Fielden.

The process behind Veg Box Direct is an offering of three different sized boxes – standard (for 2-4 people), a large family (4-6) and the mega box (6-8) – with the contents changing weekly based on what is ready to be picked and in season.

“Our farm grows Atherton Sebago potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, lettuce, Mareeba tomatoes, pumpkin, shallots, zucchini, sweet peppers, kale, chilli, strawberries, bananas, paw paw and mangoes.

“Orders close off at midnight on Tuesday and customers receive their box of choice on Friday,” said Fielden.

Veg Box delivers to Wonga, Miallo, Port Douglas, Palm Cove and Cairns Northern Beaches each week.

After an extensive career in the corporate world, which included 17 years in London, Fielden has turned his attentions to something different.

“I wanted to connect with the people of this region and provide a unique product and excellent service. It’s why I chose this route and thus far it has been most satisfying,” he said.
