Locals snap up Palmer golf course frontage lots

Six of the 10 prime golf course frontage lots overlooking the Palmer Sea Reef track remain following a highly visible auction last Saturday.

Real estate agent Callum Jones, from The Pink Company, said two of the parcels had sold for $245,000 and $250,000 respectively, and a further two are under offer.

“The buyers and potential buyers are all local residents and this is a good market indicator. The auction attracted more than 70 people and we are more than satisfied with the result.

“We will be seeking $250,000 for the remaining lots,” said Jones.

There was significant interest in the auction and Jones said there had been attention from people in Western Australia, NSW and Victoria.

People wanting to purchase land need to look on the outskirts of Port Douglas as there is a shortage of land within the town itself.
