Watch out ladies. The team at Hens Treasure Hunt has announced Port Douglas as its ninth location adding to the town’s reputation as a wedding mecca.

The Hens party specialist has locations all cross Australia and was moved to add Port Douglas to its stable after fielding a stack of calls from Far North Queensland, according to owner Gillian Opie.

“We had a lot of requests from women in Port Douglas asking us if we could come up there and after doing some research, we thought why not, so we’re giving it a whirl,” Opie said.

“Before our research we had no idea how many weddings were in Port Douglas and around the area. But it’s not only that, we were excited by how many girls go to Port Douglas for weekend trips so we’re hoping to tap into the market from outside the town.

Opie said they would cater for the Melbourne and Sydney wedding market along with Port Douglas and Cairns.

“It’s such a beautiful location so we’re really excited to be spreading the love, as we like to say, in Far North Queensland.

For over a decade, Hens Treasure Hunt has hosted more than 2,000 cheeky parties for brides-to-be in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Surfers Paradise, Brisbane and Newcastle.

Each experience is accompanied by a fun-loving hostess, prizes, complimentary drinks including champagne or cocktails, a special memento folder for the bride-to-be, a table reservation at the end venue, and a treasure hunt kit.

“It’s all about creating a memorable hen’s party for your bestie and something that’s unique with guaranteed laughs,” Opie said.

Each treasure hunt is 2.5 hours long and prices at $48 per person, or a flat rate of $480 for parties of 10 or less. Several start times are offered to accommodate afternoon and evening outings.
