Grease proving the one everyone wants at Clink Theatre

Grease the Musical has been hailed a roaring success at the Clink Theatre with huge ticket sales for all ten shows.

The production premiered to a packed house on Tuesday night with I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here host Julia Morris one of many VIP's in the audience for the local production.

Producer Michael Kerr said tomorrow night’s show had already sold out and solid bookings had been received for all remaining shows.

“The response we’ve had has been amazing,” Kerr said.

“The feedback is overwhelming and everyone involved has worked so hard, it’s great to see them getting the rewards.”

Rehearsals for the show started back in November with all but five cast members from Port Douglas. The idea to stage Grease the Musical came on the back of the successful Annie production at Clink last year.

The musical is directed by Siobhan Delgado while Alteouise De Vaughn was brought on board as musical director.

“It has been a real collaborative effort between the three of us,” Kerr said.

“We all work fantastical well together and everyone in the production is passionate about what they’re doing.”

Grease the Musical leads Stephanie Collins (Sandy) and Myles Hollo-Russell (Danny) shine on stage with locals and tourists alike giving rave reviews.

“I’ve been to a lot of theatre productions in Melbourne and this was a whole lot of fun,” said Joy Garrett, who is holidaying in the region from Victoria.

Erin Wilkinson, a Port Douglas local, said “it was a knockout performance by everyone involved. The performers were fantastic."

Grease the Musical continues tonight at Clink Theatre and runs through to April 10 with tickets available from www.clinktheatre.com.au
