Charity omelette unique concept at The Boat House

DONATING to charity is high on the priority list of the owners of the recently-opened Boat House Restaurant and this philanthropic approach will be a sure winner with locals and visitors alike.
When patrons are introduced to their weekend breakfast – which will be launched on April 11 – and they choose a Charity Omelette from the menu, one dollar from each omelette served will be donated to a local charity.
“We not only wanted to provide an altruistic side to our business, but also something unique enabling our patrons to offer something back to a worthy cause,” said owner Karen Buller.
Housed within the Reef Marina complex, the Boat House is another welcome touch to a part of the town that is fast making a bold statement in Port Douglas.
The Boat House is the second restaurant to open within a few weeks, following Barbados, and in June, the town’s first micro-brewery Hemingway’s is scheduled to start pouring beer.
“We can all feed off each other. I believe these are exciting times for the Reef Marina and we are looking forward to building a loyal base and catering to locals and visitors,” said Ms Buller.
The Boat House menu also differentiates itself by offering something for everyone and at reasonable prices. Besides the fabulous breakfast fare, the main menu has a range of little bits, to small plates, medium plates and main-sized plates.
And finally it has one of the most sought-after locations in the town.
Situated on the second level of the Marina building, overlooking the marina itself, you have tranquillity. An ideal spot for a Charity Omelette. Pass the salt, please.
