Salsa Bar & Grill has once again displayed why they continue to draw accolades after being voted the people’s favourite restaurant in Far North Queensland.
At the recent Savor Australia Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence, Salsa was not only recognised as one of the best in the state – receiving an Honourable Mention for Best Restaurant Caterer in Queensland – but was also acknowledged as the all-round people’s favourite restaurant. For this they received the major prize: The Consumer Vote.
This is the second time Salsa has won the Consumer Vote (2013), prior to winning the National Award for Best Restaurant Caterer in 2014. The Consumer Vote is judged by their clientele, and not judges, which enables diners to evaluate their experience.
The awards recognise operators who provide exceptional service; demonstrate culinary excellence; deliver a fantastic ambiance and value for money. The award is judged across 45 categories. Salsa has been taking home awards for almost 20 years.
The joint owners of Salsa Bar & Grill, Bill Conway and Rhys Bawden, said they’re “absolutely thrilled with the awards, especially the Consumer Vote”.
“It’s the customer voting for us based purely on their experiences. It’s why we do what we do, we keep our customers happy and establish Port Douglas as a ‘foodie hub’ for Tropical North Queensland,” they said.
