On Sunday morning, 60 members attended the AGM of the Tin Shed (Port Douglas & District Combined Clubs Inc.) which was held on the lower deck of the club’s premises.

Treasurer Mal Phillips tabled the certified accounts which showed that the alchemy of the recent renovations has had a positive effect upon the club’s fortunes. “After only a few short months, the Tin Shed is ahead of its mortgage payments, and intends to remain so.” Mr. Phillips advised.

Club president Tony Dickenson pointed out that feedback from members and guests as a result of the renovations, has been positive.  In answer to a question from a member concerning the view from the upper deck, Mr. Dickenson replied that “improving the view from the new deck is earmarked for the next phase of the renovations, which will be some time off yet.”

The club’s manager Kym Rowley thanked the committee for the hard work it’s done over the last year, and stated that membership numbers have doubled in the last few months as a result of the renovations which pleasingly, has included the return of many former members.
