A successful year DNA Juniors 2015 season

Douglas Netball wrapped up a successful 2015 season with Junior Grand Finals last Tuesday. 

The Junior Grand finals played all teams in 4 divisions for Winners and Runners Up honours.

Division 4 A played the Young Sapphires against the Pythons, the Sapphires came away with the win 21-16 with players of the match Georgia McCarthy.  

Division 4B had the Young Diamonds play the Young Gems, the Gems too strong winning 10-3 with the player of the Match Amber Hawkings.  

Division 5A played the Young Stars against the Young Comets, The Stars too strong on the day winning 6-3 with player of the match Caitlyn O’Neil.

Division 5B played Blue Lightning against the Port Coconuts, Blue Lightning won soundly 13-4 with player of the match Emma Pollock. 

Presentation was held straight after the games with a sausage sizzle for all. 

Individual Awards were presented:
Division 4 Best & Fairest Lani Dickson
Division 4 Players Choice a tie between Georgia McCarthy & Kacy Baxter
Division 5 Best & Fairest Mercedes Ramsey
Division 5 Players Choice Saskia Booth

Thank you also to Shannon Lincoln who was our Bus Monitor for the year and for running control each week. 

Special thank you to our Junior Umpire Convenor Nichelle Pitt who on a weekly basis coached our Umpires – Junior Umpires awarded this year were Ava Shearer and Jaime Thurtell – well done girls. 

Much appreciation to Michelle Teasdale for taking the Net Set Go program at the beginning of the year she will also run another program in the last term of this year, please see the advertisements in this issue.  

There will also be opportunities for beginners in various “Come and Try” Netball programs offered in the final term of this year.
