Garry Amey aged 60, who went missing from Kewarra Beach after leaving his family home on October 11, has been found alive at Wangetti Beach.

Mr Amy left his home on the Sunday morning at about 5:30am and his family believed he may have gone for a walk to Kewarra Beach.  He subsequently failed to return home.

Police and SES performed land searches along the nearby coastline which was called off last week.

Feared dead after missing for two weeks, it was reported that Mr Amey was rescued by paramedics on last Saturday after he was spotted floating and unresponsive.

Mr Amey was found, severely dehydrated and exposed to injuries, on Wangetti Beach 20km from where he was last seen. He was transported to Cairns Hospital.

Newsport contacted Cairns Hospital today for an updated condition report and Mr Avery remains in a stable condition.
