Douglas Libraries will be hosting the free Fun Palace in conjunction with the State Library of Queensland to help kids develop an interest in science and art activities this Saturday 3 October to be held at the Mossman Markets from 8am till noon.

Kel the Wacky Professor will also be there to help the Douglas Libraries team show children how much fun they can have learning about science with hands-on experiments and getting creative with art activities.

Douglas Libraries Manager Judy Coulthard said free Fun Palaces were being held simultaneously around the world on 3-4 October to encourage children to get involved in science and art.

“We have a number of interactive science kits for children to experience at our Fun Palace and there will be opportunities for them to participate in fun science experiments throughout the morning,” Ms Coulthard said.

“The focus is on having fun but the message is about teaching children new skills in science and art that they can develop further themselves.

“It’s going to be a fabulous morning of fun-filled activities and I urge parents to bring their children down to the Mossman Markets and encourage them to explore their own imagination.”
