While the group say they are aiming to participate in next years’ GBRM half marathon, they say so in a light hearted manner claiming that they’re doing it for the fun of it.

“We have been training as a group in preparation and working our way up to reach a goal,” said Mr McWilliam-Kerry, while the others laugh in the background.

Unaware at this stage who they are up against in the GBRM Corporate Challenge, the eager mates say that it will be a personal challenge just to get to the finish line.

“Our main inspiration is raising funds for charity Make a Wish Foundation and so far we have raised almost $800, but we’re sure this will increase,” said McWilliam-Kerry.

The Tropical Journeys Great Barrier Reef Marathon Festival 10km Corporate Challenge on November 1, is part of the over all festival.

The prize at the end will be The Inaugural Corporate Challenge Trophy, Naming Rights to the 2016 Corporate Challenge, bragging rights to your fellow industry members.

To add to that the winners will also receive Corporate Level Sponsorship for 12 months including web listing, logo on the finishing gantry, singlet, and race program, product flyer in the race kits and a trip to the Great Barrier Reef on board Calypso Reef Cruises courtesy of Tropical Journeys.  Total value $12,000.

Good luck to all the teams in the GBRM Corporate Challenge.
