Individuals, organisations and groups in the Douglas Shire are invited to apply for up to $5000 for arts and cultural projects under Council’s Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF).

RADF is a partnership between the Queensland Government and local councils supporting local arts and culture in regional Queensland. RADF Committee member and Mayor Julia Leu is delighted to announce $26,460 in funding from Arts Queensland and a $12,600 Council contribution will go towards the grants program and public art.

“The RADF program is a fantastic opportunity for local artists across all mediums to further develop their skills or showcase their amazing abilities,” Mayor Leu said.
“I’m delighted we’ve been able to increase the RADF program for 2015-16 to almost $40,000 as there are so many talented artists across the community who can benefit.”

The Regional Arts Development Fund program is a longstanding and highly successful State and Local Government partnership to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.  RADF supports more than 3000 arts, cultural development and heritage projects annually delivering local job creation, training and great arts and cultural experiences.

Application kits are available from Douglas Shire Council’s Mossman Administration Office, Port Douglas Community Hub and online from Noon October 6. Applications must be received by Council before 4.30pm Friday 27 November 2015.
