The Under 16 Muddies played Innisfail at the Mudpit for the first half of a two dayer last Saturday.

Muddies Captain Keel Sorensen won the toss and selected to bowl first.

The Muddies opening bowlers Ryan Doble and Reuben Allison bowled well with Ryan taking the first wicket of the day with a caught behind by wicketkeeper Daniel Davidson.

Innisfail 1/17 after  5 overs.  The next six Muddies bowlers bowled without taking a wicket and the  Innisfail batsmen looking good in the middle.  Tex McDowall broke the dry spell taking out Innisfail's Captain assisted with a nice catch by Levi Trewick.  Nathan Deuble was the only other lucky wicket taker with a catch from Cutis White. The Muddies finished their bowling with Innisfail achieving a strong score of 3/124 after 32 over.

It was time for the Muddies to bat and the Muddies proceeded to make their worst batting innings this season with half the team making ducks.   Muddies openers  Nathan Deuble and Levi Trewick didn't get off to a great start with Nathan bowled in the second over.

Keel was next in and he and Levi were looking good before Keel was give LBW by the Muddies coach/umpires for only 1 run. Daniel was next to bat and returned to the clubhouse with no runs. Ryan joined Levi and made a good partnership until Ryan was caught on 5 runs.

Tex was stumped for 0 and so did Reuben out with LBW.  Fraser Allen was looking good before he took a hit to the back of the neck and was retired hurt for 2 runs. Liam Clacherty walked to the crease with a big job ahead of him but was caught before making a run.

Enter Tom Harvey to show what the new kid can do.  Levi who had been holding up one end from the start of the innings was quite disappointed to be given caught out on 27 runs to unappealing fielding team.

Tom soon followed  bringing in Finn Stanaway and Curtis White and the pair managed to survive the strong Innisfail's bowlers with the Muddies finishing their 32 over with a score of 9/50.

The Muddies will play the second half of the match again in Port Douglas next Saturday.
