On Saturday the Crocs Reserves side managed to go back to back with home and away wins for the first time this season.
North Cairns Tigers travelled up the highway to the Croc Pit to try and find their first win for the year and after the first quarter with scores 1.0.6 to 1.2.8 it looked like they were on track for an upset win.
But after a rally by Andrew McLeod at the quarter time break the boys responded with a change in game plan and that reflected well on the score board. With the return of Jimmy Astill after an 18 month knee injury taking a quarter to settle in and the midfield getting on top of clearances the crocs started to find their handle on the game. Once settled, half back line of Mitchell Gibbs, Nathan Evans and Hayden Bogicevic began opening up the wings for Kane Freyling and Andrew McLeod to run the ball they started to the forwards as many opportunities as possible.
Paul Zera capitalised on his ability to outsmart his opponent and kicked 3 majors while the return of Joel Lawler saw 2 majors to his name. Also It was good to see multiple goal scorers across the ground keeping the tigers on their toes as they were never too sure who the target in the forward line would be. The crocs finished the day with a strong effort 14.7.91 to 3.6.24.
Next weekend the Crocs are off to face ladder leaders South Cairns on their home turf, this will be a true test of where the team is at as they are currently undefeated.
