Great action in games at Port Courts for Douglas Netball Association on Tuesday.

The Young Comets played the Port Coconuts in the game opener last Tuesday at Port Courts.  The Coconuts were on fire from the start, the Comets finished with a great goal in the final quarter.  Coconuts with the win 16-1 with best players Mercedes Ramsey, Libby Buzza,  Brigitte Mynot and Lyra Fudella.  The Young Stars played  Blue Lightning  both teams even 2 goals apiece at half time, Lightning bolted ahead in the next half taking the game 5-3 with best players Evie Cotton,  Ainsley Sheldrick-Port, Claire Deuble and Jade Shearer.

Division 4 played the Young Sapphires against the Young Gems, the Gems played a defensive game taking some brilliant intercepts, the Sapphires winning convincingly 30-1 with best players Georgia McCarthy, Ave Shearer, Myah Lowenstein-Jones and Lani Dickson.  The Young Diamonds played the Pythons, the Pythons started 5 nil in the first and didn't take a backward step, the Diamonds with a great goal in the last quarter.  Final score 13-1 to the snakes with best players Courtney Geddes, Jordan Scott, Ebony Shonenberger and TV Cadiente.

The seniors 6.15 time slot played Rattle1 against Crocs 1, Rattle took the game up to the Crocs for the first half but the Crocs next 2 quarters were relentless taking the game 46-36 with best & fairest Kate Cooper.  Court 2 played Young Guns 2 against Young Guns 3, Guns 2 were just 2 goals down at half time but Guns 3 found their rhythm and out shot the younger girls by 12in the next half.  Final score 41-27 with best & fairest Mary Spanton. The Stingers played Rattle 2, the Stingers were 2 goals up in the first quarter but Rattle came back shooting well over the next 3 taking the game 34-20 with best & fairest Hirome Wall.  The Strikers played Aftershock, the Strikers shot  a great 2nd quarter going into the second half with a 4 goal lead, Aftershock stood well under pressure taking some great intercepts turning the ball over in the circle and then converting to their goals in a from behind win 16-11 with best & fairest Faith Kemper. Young Guns 1 played Twenty 20, the Guns shot brilliantly for the whole game, Twenty 20 struggled to get ball to their goals.  Final score 65-19 to the Guns with best & fairest Kristen Cambias. The Tiddas played Spot On after an even first quarter the Tiddas put the pressure on to take the game 38-23 with best & fairest Zara Ryan.  The Gunnars played Crocs 2, the Gunnars were even goals in the first quarter and out shot  the Crocs in the third a good competitive game won by the Crocs 38-29 with best & fairest Mel Ryan.  The Cougars played Dynamite, 8 goals each in the first quarter the Cougars stepped up and delivered to ball to their goals keeping the Dynamite defence on task, both goal keeper and defence played well.  The Cougars too strong taking the game 47-22 with best & fairest Eleisha Mealing.

Thanks to canteen/control and umpires everyone turned up and on time for their duties great effort it makes the night run smoothly!

Please note Division 1 will not play next week but reschedule to the 9th June - NO DIVISION 1 GAMES NEXT WEEK.  This is due to many players involved in Model the Carnival event.  Division 2 will play as normal.
