Famed Australian entertainer Carlotta will return to the Clink Theatre over the weekend, bringing her trademark music and comedy act back to Port Douglas audiences, and will also appear in the Carnivale Street Parade.

A massively positive reception to her previous performances have resulted in the return booking.

Carlotta says she is looking forward to returning to Douglas.

“This time I’m going to spend a whole week up there,” she told the Newsport.

“I’m very much looking forward to the seafood - as long as I’ve got a bottle of vino and good seafood, I’ll be happy.”

Carlotta, a 52-year veteran of the stage that has become known as the Queen of The Cross, describes her act as ‘a female version of Rodney Rude’, containing standup comedy, music and audience interactivity.

“It’s a very glamorous act, I use film footage over the years and many things like that,” she said.

“The audience can ask me anything, I’ll talk about politics, life, anything - but put a funny side on it.”

Although ‘semi-retiring’ in 1992 she was unable to shake her love of performing.

“When you retire, you get a bit bored,” she said with a laugh.

Carlotta will be performing at the Clink Theatre on May 23 and 24.
