Two stars from the hit television show Bondi Rescue will arrive in Cairns tomorrow with Miss World Australia to film a road trip to The Tip of Cape York.

Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) Chief Executive Officer Alex de Waal said the television program would showcase Tropical North Queensland to a global audience with the one-hour special airing domestically on TEN and internationally via the National Geographic Channel.

“People in more than 50 countries including our key source markets will get to see this personality-driven program and discover just how amazing the Epic Cape York drive is,” he said.

“The seven-day shoot by RJ Media starts in Cairns with white water rafting and bungy jumping on Saturday, and a trip to the Great Barrier Reef on Sunday before their four-wheel drive road trip north via Port Douglas and the Bloomfield Track.

“The week-long adventure is about three friends – Andrew Reid, Corey Oliver and Courtney Thorpe – on a voyage of discovery taking in great scenery, exciting activities, local culture, native wildlife and colourful characters.

“Many people dream of tackling Epic Cape York and this program should convert dreamers into travellers as it will emphasise that anyone can do this adventurous drive which includes Cooktown and the Old Telegraph Track.

“We will be able to watch Andrew, Corey and Courtney fishing, meeting Traditional Owners, swimming at remote waterfalls, bush walking, see wildlife and standing at the northern-most point of Australia.”
