Road crash closes Captain Cook Highway both ways

UPDATED 1:40pm - Police advise that the Captain Cook Highway is now open to all traffic after the two-vehicle crash. All occupants have been freed from both vehicles and there are no reports of serious injuries.]
Motorists are asked to exercise caution as the traffic lights at the area are now out of service, with police conducting traffic manually as crews work to repair them.

Police advise that emergency crews are presently at the scene of a two vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of the Captain Cook Highway and Stanton Road.
There are believed to be a number of entrapments and crews are presently working to release those persons.
As a result of the incident, both north-bound lanes of the Captain Cook Highway are presently closed to all traffic until further notice.
Motorists needing to travel north will need to detour around the area by utilising the route via Stanton Road, Gavin Street, Anne Street, Lydia Street and McGregor Road, or utilising Yorkeys Knob Access Road, Dunne Road and McGregor Roads.
