Police are looking for a group of people responsible for a home burglaries and car thefts in the Cairns area.

Overnight, four vehicles were stolen from Port Douglas through to East Trinity (near Yarrabah).

Two vehicles, a Suzuki swift sedan and a beige Audi A4 sedan, were involved in several traffic incidents in Cairns.

The Suzuki was abandoned in Ramsay Drive, Kanimbla at around 7am, before the offenders left the scene in the Audi.

A white Toyota Landcruiser has also been recovered.

Officers are continuing to search for the Audi, as well as a black Toyota Yaris sedan.

An Investigation Centre has been established at Cairns Police Station as detectives investigate the incidents.
