Mossman police have confirmed that the police raid on a vessel in the Reef Marina on Wednesday morning was part of an ongoing operation against drug offences in Douglas Shire.

Detective Sergeant Trevor Perham from the Mossman Criminal Investigation branch said police had received information ‘sufficient to ground a number of search warrants’, including several other properties unrelated to the vessel raided by officers in the Reef Marina.

Detective Sergeant Perham confirmed that one of the search warrants ended with a 25-year-old Mossman man set to face the Mossman Magistrates Court on drug charges later this month after police found cannabis plants, seed and drug utensils at a Mossman address. Detective Sergeant Perham said police would not relent in their operations against the illegal drug trade.

“Queensland police officers stand vigilant against drug offenders in the Douglas Shire and protect Queensland with pride and integrity. The commitment of the Queensland Police Service to the enforcement of the drug laws in this State remains steadfast and will not wane.”
