Sergeant Matt Smith said that police had spoken to people that were close to Ms Sosna and that this had ‘alleviated immediate concerns about her safety,’.

Ms Sosna is believed to be somewhere in the Cape Tribulation region.

Police are still asking her to make contact with them because she will still be considered officially missing until ‘we lay eyes on her,’ Sgt Smith said.

“We’d still like to speak with her ourselves to confirm her safety.”

Ms Sosna was reported missing by her daughter Anna last week, who described her as ‘extremely vulnerable due to her fragile mental state’.

She was described as being last seen with two unknown males in a car headed toward Cooktown.
