Douglas cyclist to hit the road again for a good cause

A Douglas cyclist will once again put rubber to a long road for a good cause.
For the fourth time, Gavin Hardy will join another 90 men and women on the 2015 Signature Tour cycling event under the Tour de Cure banner.
The Signature Tour runs 1280kms from Adelaide to Melbourne over the 24th of April to the 2nd of May, with a goal to contribute even more funding to Australian cancer research, support and prevention projects.
Acting on statistics that show one in three cancers are preventable, Tour de Cure aims not only to raise money to find a cure but also to raise community awareness. More kids, people and communities need to know that they can help prevent cancer by making healthy lifestyle choices.
"During the tour we will share Tour de Cure’s ‘BE FIT - BE HEALTHY - BE HAPPY’ cancer awareness message with thousands of school kids," Gavin said.
"I have committed to raising in excess of $12,000 to contribute to the Signature Tour and I really appreciate the communities support to help me reach my target.
"This is by way of a cash donation or by providing goods or services that can be used as prizes or auctioned off at our fundraising dinner at The Sugar Wharf on March 7th 2015. Any amount or prize is of great value, no matter how small."
Tour de Cure is raising funds for world-leading research, to find cancer breakthroughs which benefit everyone, as well as vital support and prevention projects for men, women and children everywhere.
Since 2007, Tour de Cure has raised over $14 million and in 2014 alone they funded 13 Cancer research breakthroughs.

You can support Gav on his way by attending their Gala Dinner event on Saturday 7th March 2015 at the Sugar Wharf.
The evening will be generously catered by Port Douglas Catering and Events.

are $100. Includes a 3 Course Dinner + Entertainment.

Will be as tables of 10, so if you'd like to make up a table of 10, that's perfect but it’s not essential. as per previous events.
