The Tin Shed, a shed no more!
New Tin Shed launches spectacular views

Hundreds were invited to the official opening last night of the newly renovated Port Douglas and District Combined Club or still more warmly known as 'The Tin Shed'.
The now two story local favourite offers visiting patrons and members a waterfront experience unseen here in Port Douglas.
Resembling little of the original Tin Shed or the 1890 Douglas Divisional Board Tramways Wharf, the historic importance is not lost with memorabilia and photographs lining the walls.
The Tin Shed 2.0 was officially opened by Federal MP Warren Entch who sang praise to General Manager Kym Rowley and Club President Tony Dickinson for their vision and willingness to invest in the region.
Mr Dickinson was confident that the remarkable improvements would only take 5 years or less to pay off. He also mentioned and paid tribute to the builders for their commitment to a fixed price allowing the club to stay on track and not exceed the multi million dollar build.
Guests were treated to new never before seen views over the Coral Sea and parklands towards the Old Sugar Wharf.
Peroni reps came to the party as drinks flowed from the new upstairs bar. A selection of seafood and canopés were available from the kitchen. Only in recent months former Salsa Bar & Grill Chef Dominic Uhlig joined as Head Chef of The Tin Shed Kitchen adding even more value to the new experience.
Visitors and members were met by a well stocked wine and spirits bar as they entered the new upstairs area, along with comfortable interior lounge seating and high seat balcony bench bars. A full range of tap beers were and will remain on offer with the first pours being enjoyed by the inaugural Douglas guest list.
New memberships to the Combined Club / Tin Shed were on offer for $5.
