Dragons steamroll Redlynch to continue streak

Douglas United continued in their winning ways away at Redlynch on Friday night with a comprehensive 13-2 win in poor conditions away from home.

Struggling for numbers due to injuries and unavailability the Dragons started with real authority and within the first ten minutes had effectively ended the match as a contest.

The pace and trickery of Matthew Smith and Andrew Warburton cause a young and inexperienced Redlynch defence all sorts of issues and clinical finshing meant rather than be concerned with he result the Dragons were focused on scoring as many as possible.

With an attacking focus they were vulnerable at the back, and some laxidasical defending combined with some dreadful goalkeeping meant Redlynch were able to pull two goals back to keep them interested in the contest.

Redlynch's goals were never going to be enough to make a game of it, and the Dragons continued to dominate throughout the second half only to have some wasteful finishing prevented the scoreline from blowing out even further. Matthew Smith was the Paddy's Man of the Match with his composure in front of goal in the first half, and his assured display in goal for the second half.

The Dragons are away at JCU on Friday night looking to continue in their unbeaten start to the season.
