Douglas Netball; final round for term 2

Douglas netball played it's final round for term 2.

Division 5 playing the Young Stars against Port Coconuts, the Stars put on a sparkling show shooting 8 goals the Coconuts shot a fantastic goal in the last quarter final score 8-1 to the Stars with best players Caitlyn, Emily Brown, Ainsley Sheldrick-Port and Emily Donohue.

The Comets played Blue Lightning with a goal each in the first quarter, there were no goals scored for the next 2 quarters despite a great effort by both teams, the Comets shot 3-1 in the last quarter to win 4-1 with best players Emma Brown, Evie Cotton, Bella Mussett and Hazel Kitto.

Division 4 played the Young Diamonds against the Young Sapphires the Diamonds put in a great defensive game and shot 4 brilliant goals in the last quarter, the Sapphires too strong 27-7 with best players Jorja Harvey, Ebony Schonenberger, Edie Thurtell and Jay Heidke.  

The Young Gems played the Pythons, the Pythons were too strong from the start the Gems showed great speed and passing but the Pythons size and experience took the game 40-1 with best players Logan Buzza, Lani Dickson, Ava Shearer and Allie Siebel.

Division 2 played Tiddas against Young Guns 3, Guns 3 held the play in the first half, the Tiddas won the second half but not enough to take the win.  Final score 29-25 with best & fairest Mary Spanton.

Aftershock played Young Guns 3, the game was well contested by both sides the Guns with the win 56-3 with best & fairest Zoe Day.  

The Gunnars played Spot On, the Gunnars won each quarter despite Spot On taking every opportunity to intercept and score, it was the Gunnars night 35-24 with best & fairest Megan Newel.  

Rattle 2 played the Strikers, Rattle answered every play the Strikers threw at them taking the win 69-12 with best & fairest Robyn Bruenig.

Crocs 2 played Stingers in an entertaining game with both sides competing cleanly a great game with Crocs 2 winning 33-22 best & Fairest Dixie Dennis.  

Division 1 played Young Guns 1 against Dynamite the Guns started well shooting 11-3, Dynamite won the next Quarter 7-4 the Guns shot ahead over the next 2 quarters taking the win 35-16 with Marley Cairns named best & fairest as well as players choice.

The Cougars played Rattle 1,  the Cougars won the 4 quarters with good consistent netball. Final score 33-15 with best & fairest Nichelle Pitt. 

Netball will break now for 2 weeks.  We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable school holiday and will see you again refreshed and ready to play on the 14th July.
