Road work is expected to start next week near Mossman to repair damage caused by cyclonic rainfall and flooding from early 2014.

Repairs at three sites on the Captain Cook Highway, between Cooya Beach turn-off and Mossman, are expected to take nine weeks to complete, weather permitting.

North of Mossman, damaged asphalt surfaces will be repaired at two sites between Mossman and Somerset Drive on Mossman-Daintree Road with work expected to take four weeks, weather permitting.

For the safety of workers and road users, changed traffic conditions will be in place at both sites until works are complete, including a temporaryily reduced speed limit, traffic controllers and single lane closures.

Road users should expect minor delays and plan their journeys accordingly. In the interest of safety, always obey instructions from traffic controllers and drive to the conditions.
