Planning for Port Douglas Carnivale’s 21st year is continuing despite the announcement today that Events NQ has been placed in voluntary liquidation.

Events NQ were behind the Sheraton Mirage Longest Lunch and Food, Wine & A Taste of Port.

Port Douglas Carnivale general manager Roy Weavers said he was disappointed to learn of the closure of the Cairns and Port Douglas based business.

“Events NQ has worked in partnership with Port Douglas Carnivale since 2007. During this time there have been some incredible highlights and their is no question their events helped to propel Port Douglas Carnivale on the domestic and international stage.”

Mr Weavers said the Carnivale committee was already in discussion with a number of industry partners to create two new flagship events to kick off the opening festivities and an announcement would be made in the coming weeks.
