With the goal to make The Reef Marina one of Australia’s best marinas by creating a vibrant waterfront for visitors and locals, this progress is good news, said The Reef Marina’s Andrew Hooper-Nguyen.

"We are delighted to be advancing the long-awaited rejuvenation of the Port Douglas waterfront.

"Our master plan design features a central plaza for al fresco dining and waterfront walkway to enjoy the spectacular views,” said Hooper-Nguyen.

After being awarded the Douglas Innovations & Economic Development Award at the recent Douglas Business and Tourism Awards, The Reef Marina manager Rob Cruz said they were honoured to be recognised for their economic development role in Port Douglas.

"We have invested more than $5 million in the marina over the last two years, but more importantly, we are a facilitator of business and home for more than 50 other companies,” said Cruz.

Outcome of the pre-lodgement enquiry to follow after the Ordinary Council Meeting next week.
