With the welcome return of young guns Ben Shrimpton and Haydon D’Addona the Astute Financial Mud crabs were pumped for a big days cricket against United.
Captain Bobby lost the toss and we were sent into bat on a crumbling dusty deck that played its fair share of tricks during the day.
Things started of slowly for the Muddies loosing Randel for 4 score 1/9 bringing Kingy to the crease to bat with young Benny. Benny was doing the job for the Crabs wearing down the United bowlers until he fell for 8. Kingy was joined by Haydon who looked the good from ball one. Kingy and Haydos put on a nice 28 run partnership before King fell for 16 score was at 3/50.
Benny V came and went after being bowled by an absolute peach. Harris was looking good and came out full of energy slapping a few around before he fell for a questionable lbw for 14. Buckets came out and was starting to find form in his cover drive before he was caught for 19 Muddies 6/121.
With the wickets falling around him young Hayden started to ramp it up a bit, he was joined by Luca who had a short stay at the crease before he fell for 6. Mr Wall joined Haydon but unfortunately Haydos lost his wicket for a very well made 44. Sorrenson contributed for 6 and Redfern denied Wall of a hundred getting bowled for 1 (of the duck).
With 5 overs or time left the Crabs set out to get a few before the end of the days play. Captain Bobby and Kaidon opened the bowling with Captain Bobby producing the goods in his second over, firstly bowling some absolute venom that may leave a lovely bruise in the chest area then followed up with another ripper claiming an lbw score 1/11.
With a days play to go the Crabs will be looking for some quick wickets and maybe a quick hit and push for another outright.
