Reward offered for missing Port Douglas parrot

A Port Douglas couple is offering a hefty reward for the return of their beloved pet parrot.

Charlie the young green Alexandrine Parakeet escaped from the Port Douglas Motel office on Monday morning just before 10am.

Owners John and Lillian Nagan said that while Charlie’s wings are clipped, his friendly nature has probably led to someone picking him up.

“John’s very worried, he’s had Charlie since he was only a baby,” Lillian told the Newsport.

“Charlie’s just so friendly and he’s not afraid of people so he’s probably gone up to some up to someone and they’ve picked him up.

“He’s probably chewed a hole in their couch by now, knowing Charlie.”

The Nagans are offering a $150 reward for the safe return of Charlie, and are contactable on 4099 5248.

“We are hoping that someone’s got him and will bring him back to us for $150,” Ms Nagan said.
