Results from Mossman Golf Club

Mossman Golf Club’s Tuesday event sponsored by the Court House Hotel was won by Steve Leak with 38 points on a count-back to Mal McKellar and in 3rd place Ralf Middel 37.

NTP’s – Leon Baker, Matty Smith (great shot to 20cm), Mal McKellar, Dennis Blake & Paul McMahon.

Wednesday’s Sporters 9 hole event was won by Matty Smith with 19 points ahead of last week’s winner Ron Smith 17 on a count-back.

NTP’s – Matty Smith took the honours on both 6 and 8.

Awards for the Far North Queensland District Ladies Golf Association for 2014, were presented at Mareeba on Wednesday, and Mossman players to receive Certificates of Achievement were - Mikaela Goodwin for her representation of the District at the Junior Jug Matchplay event, Shirley Carney as Junior Jug Captain.  Mikaela Goodwin also won the FNQ District Brooch in Division 1. Tracey Benham was the FNQ District Champion and a representative player at the Meg Nunn Matchplay event. Dixie Dennis won Most Improved for Division 3. Gennai Goodwin was also recognised for her representation of our District over the years and for her significant achievements in golf. 

Thursday’s Lucy Giles Monthly Medal was won by Jo Constantine with nett 73 ahead of Shirley Carney 76 and Annabel Kuik 77.   Shirley Carney won the putting competition.

NTP’s – Shona Barbour, Lucy Giles, Annabel Kuik on 10 & 13 and Lisa Smith.

On Good Friday there were plenty of members and visitors enjoying the course and having a practice for next week’s Mossman Butchering Steak Bash.

Saturday’s April Monthly Medal sponsored by the Barrier Reef Tavern was won by Bill McCarthy with nett 65 with runner-up Charlie Kadic 72.

Gross A Grade Dan Coulthard 77, B Grade Dave Nesbit 84, C Grade Antony Croser 93.

Nett A Grade Dan Coulthard 75, B Grade Dennis Blake 76, C Grade Brendon Wood 73.

NTP’s – John Ziegler, Dave Heron, Geoff Goodwin, Antony Croser & Norm Lockwood.

The Ladies Monthly Medal sponsored by Jenny Rowell was won by Tracey Benham with nett 73 ahead of Judy Kraidy 75.  Tracey also won the putting competition.
