Douglas Netball resumed games last Tuesday after the Easter break.
Division 5 played the Young Comets against Blue Lightning at 4pm. The Comets put the pressure on from the first siren but Lightning steadied with both teams 3 apiece at half time.
The Comets just a little too strong with the final score 5-4 best players Sofia Cullen and Hazel Kitto.
The Young Stars played the Port Coconuts, the Stars shot the goals early in the game with the Coconuts showing some great defence final score 5-1 to the Stars with best players Bayahn Aston-Dillan, Libby Buzza and Emma Brown.
Division 4 saw the Pythons play the Young Gems, the Pythons showed their experience over 4 quarters with the Gems shooting their only goal in the second quarter.
Pythons won 29-1 with best players TT Cadiente, Lani Dickson and Charlotte Dowling.
The Young Sapphires played The Young Diamonds, Sapphires were on fire shooting 21 goals to 3, the Diamonds showed great courage despite the stronger competition.
Best players Jay Heidke, Koda Cambias and Ebony Shonenberger.
The Senior round 3 draw started with Dynamite playing Crocs 1 the Crocs were superior from the first pass taking the game 35-15 with best & fairest Kristen Ramsey.
Young Guns 1 played the Cougars with Guns 1 out playing the Cougars despite their great defence with a final score 27-17 with best & fairest Lana Baxter.
Rattle 1 played Twenty 20 a fast paced game with Rattle shooting well winning 40-24 with best & fairest Natalie McKeown.
Division 2 played the Gunnars against Spot On despite a slow start on the score board they soon rallied to take the game 30-14 with best & fairest Jo Cowe.
Young Guns 3 played the Tiddas in their new dresses (great colours!) In a close contest even score at half time the Tiddas waned in the 3rd quarter giving the Guns a chance, the Guns by a goal 27-26 with best & fairest Madeline Fielding.
Young Guns 2 played Aftershock in a good contest unfortunately the score does not reflect the effort of the teams.
The Guns took the game 45-4 with best & fairest Kaleesha Savage.
In the final game Rattle 2 played the Strikers the Rattle tesms experience shone through with the final score 43-10 with best & fairest Jessie Goetze.
Special thanks to our umpires tonight we were short on experienced umpires so a big thanks to the girls who umpired without mentors great job!
Next week Juniors will start at 4pm with Seniors starting at 6.15pm please arrive at least 10 minutes before your games.
