Police have released new details about the the theft of a motor vehicle from a Newell Road golf course on Monday evening, which has been involved in further crimes.

The vehicle had been parked outside the clubhouse at the complex and was stolen sometime between 5pm and about 9.30pm.  It is believed that the owner had inadvertently left the ignition keys in the vehicle, which also contained a set of Callaway brand golf clubs and a buggy. 

The vehicle was also used in a subsequent theft of fuel from a Craiglie fuel station shortly before 10pm. 

The stolen vehicle is described as being a 2004 Toyota Hilux single cab utility.  It is white in colour and when stolen was bearing Queensland registration 499-KYW. 

It is believed the same vehicle was involved in a shop stealing incident at Smithfield sometime between 11.40am and 12.15pm on Tuesday September 2. A witness saw the vehicle and a man fitting the same description as the person featured above. The vehicle had ‘RUMPIG’ registration plates at the time of this offence.  

Police have released the image of the stolen vehicle and a person they believe may be able to assist with their investigations.
