Mischlewski takes honours in perfect conditions at Mossman Rifle Club

Mossman and District Rifle Club Weekly Shooting Report. 20/09/14 , 600 meter double.

Saturday's local shooting competition saw four shooters turn out for what was a perfect day at the range.  Rick Mischlewski took honors in the Full Bore competition with a final double range score of 99/2 from a possible 105 followed closely by Neil Attwood on 96/2.   Norbert Schmidt took honors in the F Class Comp scoring 116 from a possible 126.

Norbert Schmidt was the first to set up his custom  scoped mechanically supported 308 in the F class competition. Norbert opened with a  5 and a 6 (dead center )and went on to squeeze off more of the same to gain a first range score of 55 from a possible 60.

Rick Mischlewski was next to compete in the Full bore comp. Rick opened with low point and  then found his rhythm scoring one Super V Bull (dead center) and  a string of Bulls eyes and a few 4's to finish with 47/1 from a possible 50.

Neil Attwood was next down on the mound with his trusty 308 Full Bore (peep sights, manually supported )  rifle. Neil opened with a 3 and a 5, cutting the 3 he went on to squeeze off  a string 4's and bull eyes  to give him a first range score of 44 from a possible 50 in the ten shot first range.

 

Schmidt was again back for his second 600 meter 11 shot range. Norbert opened with a few 4's and then went on to squeeze off 5's and 6's(dead center) and went on to gain a creditable score of 61 from a possible 66.      

 

Rick Mischlewski was down again for his second range, Rick opened with a V bull and a 4. Cutting them both he went on to squeeze off seven Bulls eyes( center ring ) and one V Bull ( smaller center ring)  and a few fours to give him a second range score of 52/1 from a possible 55 in the 11 shot match.

Neil Attwood was back in his gear to contest the second range. Neil emulated Ricks score opening  with a five and a fourt as sighters, then  went on to squeeze off a mixed bag of  Bulls eyes and V bulls and two 4's to finish with a second range score of 52/2 from a possible 55.

A good day was had by all. The club would like to thank everyone involved on the day. The Club meets every Saturday at 1:00 pm at the range situated half way between Port Douglas and Mossman on the highway. Anyone interested can call 40988244 or just turn up on the day.
