Television legend Sir David Attenborough is in Far North Queensland shooting a nature program on the Great Barrier Reef.
Filming a series called 'David Attenborough: The Third Dimension', Sir David will be using 3D cameras to showcase the Great Barrier Reef's unique species.
Public relations agency Lateral Events Management has confirmed that Sir David is in Queensland and a source has reported to Newsport that he is out on the Great Barrier Reef right now using either Cairns or Port Douglas as a base.
Lateral Events has said that Sir David will not be conducting any media interviews but Newsport will continue to bring more information to light as it comes to hand.
Sir David has visited Far North Queensland many times to film documentaries on the region's rainforests and the Great Barrier Reef and has said it is one of his favourite parts of the world.
"People say to me, ‘what was the most magical thing you ever saw in your life?’, and I always say without a word of exaggeration ‘the first time I was lucky enough to scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef," he told media in September.
“As I entered the water I remember suddenly seeing these amazing multi-coloured species living in communities – just astounding and unforgettable beauty. So I’m very excited to be returning to the reef with all the latest technology and science to see one of the most important places on the planet in a whole new way”.
