New website for Daintree

Daintree Marketing Co-operative (DMC) has launched a new website showcasing the entire Daintree region from north of Mossman to Cape Tribulation.
“Destinationdaintree.com" offers detailed information about the area's unique icons, including the rainforest, reef, rivers and beaches, wildlife, history and indigenous culture, location details and an interactive map.
International and domestic visitors are able to fully research, locate and book their accommodation, tours and attractions and restaurants through the website.
Currently fifty-six Daintree tourism businesses have full-page listings, with DMC saying they always welcome interest from other businesses.
Website project manager Daphne Titus-Rees said the website was designed to work across all platforms.
“This new, responsive website allows visitors to navigate easily on desktop and mobile devices," Ms Titus-Rees said.
They can access in-depth information about our magnificent region and the search facility makes it easy to plan and book their holidays online.
“It was a massive project taking seven months, with members volunteering their time to either source and sort images, prepare and upload content and proof read prior to going live.
“DMC opted for a content management system which will allow members to update the site regularly and on an ongoing basis, and to add content and images over time.”
Daintree Marketing Co-operative was formed in 2009 and represents tourism operators from both sides of the Daintree River as well as operators who bring visitors to the region and have an interest in promoting the whole Daintree and all it has to offer.
Members have the option to donate 15 hours of their time each year working on various promotional projects – or to pay an extra $300 in lieu of their time. DMC is self-funded so all membership contributions are used solely for the promotion of the Daintree.
