A garden party at Sheraton Port Douglas for the Melbourne Cup will raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
The party, which will be held in Sheraton’s idyllic Glade Pavillion from 11:00 to 3:30 next Tuesday, will be open to the public.
The Race That Stops The Nation will be displayed on Sheraton’s impressive 4.8 x 3-metre screen, while local boutiques Lorna Jane, Tashinta, The Eye & Rose and Boy will put their best on display for Fashions of the Field.
Silent auctions and raffles throughout the day will raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, with prizes including a Fujitsu split-system air-conditioner and a wide selection of accommodation vouchers.
Sheraton Port Douglas Sales and Marketing director Elena Fragasso said the event was sure to impress.
“It’s going to be the best party in town, of course,” she told the Newsport.
“We had a very successful event last year and this year’s is shaping up to be even better, and everyone coming along will be helping to support a very good cause.
“Sheraton as an international brand is dedicated to a strong sense of community and we raise funds for causes like the National Breast Cancer Foundation wherever we can.”
Tickets for the Sheraton Port Douglas Melbourne Cup Garden Party are $99, with a complimentary glass of Mumm champagne on arrival.
