Reports are coming in of a high-speed police chase north of Mossman. 

Newsport is awaiting confirmation from Queensland Police but it appears squad cars began to pursue a single vehicle shortly before 9:15am this morning. 

Squad cars from Port Douglas are also believed to have joined the case. 

Newsport contacted Police Media Queensland a short time ago who said the police incident file was listed as 'closed' ahead of confirmation of details about the incident, indicating the chase has come to an end, but it is unknown if the chased suspect has been apprehended at this stage.

Facebook users have reported police cars chasing a grey Hilux ute through Miallo at high speed and also a heavy police presence around the Wonga Beach service station.
