Saturday saw a small contingent of local shooters turn out for friendly target shoot on what was a rather overcast humid day with a mirage that caused some difficulty due to the targets doing a slow foxtrot (dancing around).
Rick Mischlewski took out first place in the Full Bore comp with a double range score of 99/7 from a possible 105 followed by our most newest target shooter, Mark Goulston on 82/2. Mark has only been shooting Full Bore(Open Peep Sights) for about 4 weeks and he is learning the art of steadying his breathing and getting totally relaxed to center the peep on the small bulls eye target before he squeezes the trigger to send the projectile on its way, hopefully to hit dead centre (Super V bull) which is a big ask considering dead center is only the size of a dinner plate at 600 meters.
The club's stalwart, Ron Schild, did the marking and did a fine job to boot.
The Club meets every Saturday at 1:00 pm and all visitors/ interested persons are most welcome. The club is situated on the Cook Highway half way between Port and Mossman. See you there.
