Remembrance Day commemoration at Mossman

Remembrance Day was commemorated at the Douglas Shire Council chambers and was well supported by councillors, the Mossman RSL, the Mossman State High School and members of the public.
The Master of Ceremonies was Mossman RSL Sub-branch president Ron Savage.
Douglas Shire Council mayor Julia Leu reminded those present that this was the 96th Remembrance Day and in fours years’ time the 100th event would mark a century since the end of World War I in 1918.
Other dignitaries who spoke included Ron Savage, Father Barry Patterson, Mossman High School captains Cameron Manutus, Kayla D’ Addona, Ethan ross and Ben Wilde.
Sean Hawkes played the bagpipes while wreaths were laid.
The Last Post was performed by Kaela Trewick.
The singing of the National Anthem was led by Junior School Captain Sophie O’Gorman-Petrack and High School Leader Isabella Alison while the school band played.
