The Clink Theatre Director Jack Heywood was one of 20 close friends of local Icon and Senior Citizen of the year recipient, the irrepressible James Watson, who attended The Tin Shed on Sunday 16th to help James celebrate his 80th birthday.

Never one to slow down, James spoke of his plans to get the Douglas Community Garden Club up and running, on the land opposite the Neighbourhood Centre.

In Nautilus Street the work James has done to beautify the centre strip has been neglected a little of late but James is hoping to inspire others to continue this work.

Congratulations from all of us at The Newsport and the entire Douglas Shire.  James is indeed an inspiration to everyone both young and old.
