Meryl Hutchins is inviting Mossman and Port Douglas locals to don their fashion finest at her upcoming Australia's Biggest Morning Royal-Tea!

All Queenslanders are invited to raise their cups and tip the balance in the fight against cancer this May, in celebration of Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

The official Morning Tea date is May 22, but Queenslanders are invited to pop the kettle on anytime throughout May or June.

With the help of Cancer Council Queensland's Mossman Port Douglas Branch, Mrs Hutchins said their Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea will be held this Saturday, May 24 from 9.30am to 12pm at Mossman Bowls Club – and the whole community is invited to attend.

"We're having a Royal Morning Tea, so come dressed in your royal robes, tiaras, diamonds and jewels for a chance to be crowned best dressed Royal!" she said.

The morning promises delicious food, great prizes and fantastic entertainment.

"We all know somebody who's been touched by cancer, so come along for a fun morning and let’s fight back against a disease that takes too much.

The Mossman Port Douglas Branch's Biggest Morning Tea requires an entry fee of $3.

Regional Fundraising Coordinator Berni McKean said every cup consumed for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea counts in the fight against cancer.

"Cancer Council Queensland is able to make a real difference in the lives of Queenslanders affected by cancer thanks to the wonderful support of people like Meryl and their communities," she said.

"Joining Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is an easy, fun and delicious way that we can work together for a cancer free future."

This year, more than 6700 morning tea hosts from around Queensland will gather in living rooms, community centres, schools and workplaces to celebrate Australia's Biggest Morning Tea and raise more than $2.5 million for cancer research, education programs and patient support services.
