New Douglas Shire Council CEO Linda Cardew will be one of the guest speakers at tomorrow's inaugural Douglas Region Business Expo, held at the Port Douglas Community Centre.

Run by the Douglas Chamber of Commerce, more than 40 businesses will be showcased throughout the day with customer service workshops held for small businesses.

The one day event aims to provide opportunities for local businesses to showcase their products and services to other businesses in the Douglas region. 

Confirmed guest speakers also include Doug Ryan of Tourism Port Douglas and Daintree and Pam Willis-Burden from the Historical Society. 

Douglas Chamber of Commerce President, Phoebe Kitto said she hopes the event creates new business opportunities for the region.   

"It will be a fantastic opportunity to network with other operators and take advantage of the many seminars, guest speaker events and job leads at the expo," Ms Kitto said.  

The expo is free to attend and will be held at the Port Douglas Community Centre on Thursday, March 27 from 9:30am to 4:30pm.
