Enthusiastic junior Crocs perform strongly against Cairns Hawks

Tuesday April 1 2014

By Matthew Scott

A half time rocket from the coach and a pocket of red snakes did the trick as the mighty Port Douglas Crocs under eights fired into top gear and finished strongly against the Cairns Hawks on Sunday at Cazalys Stadium.

Young gun Lachlan led the charge with many telling marks and kicks.

The forward presence of Jai early and late in the game stretched the Hawks defence.

First-gamer Kingston showed promise and looks to have a bright future.

He was well supported by Jetson, Jessiah, Solomon and the ever improving Mark Lenny.

Kayden, Harry, Campbell took a while to wake up but when they did they quickly found touch and worked their way into the game.

The enthusiasm and team play shown by little X, Sando, twins Blake and Jack was exceptional.

The ruck work of Oscar late in the game was one of many highlights.

The Coach’s awards went to Blake, Jack, Mark and Oscar.
